The activities of Naogaon District Judgeship started on the 1st September, 1984 AD in the old Munshef court building. The first District and Session Judge was Mirza Asaduzzaman Al-Faruque who joined on the 1st September, 1984 AD. Seventeen District Judges have worked here till now. Mr. Md. Abu Samim Azad is working at present. The old building is situated at the main city i.e. beside KD School. The activities of District Judgship initiated in late 1992 after the construction of the new building, due to scarcity of space, at Mouza Komaigari beside Naogaon-Rajshahi Road 3 km away from the old building. In 1998 all the courts of Assistant Judges were transferred in the new building. As the old court building was dilapidated, the department of Public Works demolished it in stages. In 1992 after shifting, the bungalow of District Judge was constructed on the eastern side of the old court building on a small scale. Since November 1, 2007 the activities of the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court have been being held in the the District Judge Court Building as no separate building has not been constructed yet. The first Chief Judicial Magistrate was Mr. Md. Akhtar-ul-Alam. Eight Chief Judicial Magistrates have worked here till now. Mr. Biswanath Mandal is working as Chief Judicial Magistrate at present.
